Raw forms of contemporary art located in a historic, eighteenth-century interior is an unusual combination, activating a whole range of additional meanings. The exhibition of works by Magdalena Abakanowicz - one of the most important Polish artists of the second half of the 20th century, presented in the historic walls of the Royal Library - the only fully authentic room of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, which has survived the war, will have this character.
To celebrate the 300th anniversary of birth of Bernardo Bellotto, also known as Canaletto, the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen in Dresden and the Royal Castle in Warsaw organize an exhibition presenting the painter's creative path and output. The exhibition will present the painter's works from various periods of his career in Venice, Dresden, Vienna and Munich, up to Warsaw – where he worked for King Stanisław August.
